71st Independence Day and "Swachh Bajjodi Abhiyan" held at Bajjodi

Blessed Virgin Mary after completing her life on earth was assumed into Heaven Body and soul. That’s the feast of the Assumption of Blessed Virgin Mary which Catholics commemorate on August 15th all over the world. Faithful in great number participated in both these celebration held at Infant Mary Church, Bajjodi.

 

 

 

 

 

The Holy Eucharist Mass was at 6.30 a.m. celebrated by the Episcopal Vicar for Religious, Rev. Fr. Pius James D’souza. After the Eucharist, all gathered to celebrate the 71st Independence Day of our Country with honour and devotion. Fr. Pius James, Parish Priest Fr. Shabas Crasta, Asst. Priest Fr. Ivan D’souza, Vice President Mr. Joseph Mascarenhas, Secretary Mrs. Irene Pinto were present. Mr. Joswin Pinto welcomed the gathering. Ex. Army Mr. Maxim Lobo hoisted the Trirung. National Anthem was sung and everyone saluted the National Flag with great respect. Speaking on the occasion Mr. Maxim Lobo recalled the valuable price our freedom fighters had to pay in order to liberate our Mother Country. Youth sang the Patriotic song. Ms. Evita Pinto proposed the vote of thanks. Mr. Meryl Machado compered the programe. At the end sweets were distributed to the parishioners.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

ICYM unit observes Swachh Bajjodi Abhiyan

To mark Independence Day celebration Infant Mary Church ICYM unit organized ‘Swachh Bajjodi Abhiyan’ at the church premises here on Tuesday 15th August

The cleaning which began at 8.30 a.m. went on till 11 a.m. Youth and parishioners joined together to clean the Bikarnakatte to Bajjodi Parish road and surroundings. Parish Priest Fr. Shabas Crasta, Asst. Priest Fr. Ivan D’souza, Vice President Mr. Joseph Mascarenhas were present. Indeed this programe was organized to create awareness in people to keep our surroundings clean and tidy.
