Saverapura ICYM organises unique ‘Kutma Fest’

Sept 12, 2016: Saverapura Church was establised on Dec 3, 1991 is on the verge of Silver Jubilee this year and many programmes are being organised to mark this unique milestone. The Saverapura ICYM organised unique ’Kutma Fest’ for parishioners on the evening of 12th September, 2016. 


The event was made memorable with the participation of many dignitaries like Saverapura Church Founder - Rev. Fr. Mathias Pereira, ICYM Mangalore Diocesan Director -  Rev. Fr. Ronald Dsouza, Moodbidri Varado Dean – Rev. Fr. Paul Sequeira, Moodbidri Varado ICYM Director - Rev. Fr. Basil Vas (P.P of Alangar), Parish Priest - Rev. Fr. Rakesh Mathias, ICYM Central Council President - Jackson Eric D’Costa, Rev. Fr. Kenneth Crasta – Assistant P.P of Alanagr, Native Carmelite Priest Aswin D’Silva and Moodbidri Deanery ICYM president - Jaison Pereira.

Saverapura ICYM president Robin Lobo extended a warm welcome to guests and all present. The programme was inaugurated by putting new corn into the milk by the guests.

A meaningful slideshow depicting the history of the Church right from 1973 was presented and appreciated by all. Priests Fr. Mathias, Fr. Paul, Fr. Basil, Fr. Rakesh and Fr. Ronald delivered meaningful messages on the occasion.

ICYM Central Council President - Jackson Eric Dcosta and ICYM Central Council Auditor - Anish Dsouza, Alangar were honored on this occasion. Also present among the audience were Central Council Moodbidri deanery representative - Anish Dsouza Surathkal,  ICYM Mangalore Diocese central executive committee members  as well as Moodbidri deanery ICYM committee members.




Donors were honored.  Entire programme was beautifully compered by Vishal Colaco with Preema Dsouza proposing the vote of thanks.

At the end of the programme, everybody enjoyed the traditional authentic Novenm Jevaan and delicious Vorn prepared by the parishioners. Novenm Jevaan was also sent to the homes of Elders and sick who couldn’t attend the programme.

The parishioners and guests went home with nostalgic memories of this unique Kutma Fest.
